The rexene has been fully removed, and the surface cleaned.

The swell soundboard also needs to be enlarged to make room for the new reed stop.

A lot of work has been done to ensure that the new reed will be in keeping with the French romantic style of the rest of the organ. The process is a lot more complicated than might be imagined because there are so many variables - not just the length and width of the pipes, but also the size, shape and weight of the reed itself!

This work will not be seen again until the next rebuild!
