1st Holy Communion Preparation

Preparation for children for First Holy Communion is offered in the parish for children in school year 3 (aged 7) and over. All preparation is given in the parish (not in schools). The sessions start at the beginning of September, and run through until July, with the First Holy Communion celebrations in May.

During the preparation, there are about 14 sessions for children and about 6 sessions for parents. There is homework, which is designed for families to work through together. It is also vital that those preparing for First Holy Communion attend Mass each Sunday, unless they are ill.

Please note that once the programme starts, children who have not enrolled may have to wait for the following year.

The enrollment session is usually the first Tuesday evening after the start of the September term at 5.00 pm in the hall at the back of the Church.
